Book a playground event

We are delighted to be able to offer this new event option, bringing singing back to school.
Playground Workshops allow your pupils and staff to spend active time outdoors, enjoying all the Health & Wellbeing benefits of joining in Fischy songs, while being safe and compliant with restrictions on indoor singing.
Playground workshops:
- Two members of the Fischy Team will come to your school and deliver up to six
25-minute workshops (3 morning, 3 afternoon)
- Marker cones are used to keep a ‘3-metre-plus’ distance at all times between the Fischy leaders and the group of pupils and school staff. School staff will help younger children to maintain this safe distancing.
- One or two classes at a time can participate, depending on your school policy - using marker cones to maintain class ‘bubbles’.
- The session is designed to keep children moving and active throughout – so no
chairs or mats required.
- In the case of wet weather, the session can be re-scheduled at short notice. This
will no doubt be a regular occurrence over the winter months, but we aim to be
flexible about dates and times!
- We’ll use songs with plenty of energy to keep everyone warm and engaged –
covering relevant themes such as resilience, emotions and values. This can be tailored to your requirements.
- With help from a staff member, we will need to run a long power cable from an
indoor power socket then out of a nearby door or window, to power our
equipment.
- The aim is that the Fischy team do not need to enter the school building at any point during the visit (they’ll do their research beforehand, and locate a local café or public building for toilet facilities and warming-up between sessions!)
A full risk assessment document will be provided to participating schools.
Costs: £325 for a full day, £210 for a half day, plus travel expenses at 45p per mile.
We've just released some dates for schools in the Lothians, first come first served: 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th. 20th or 26th October (2021).
