Tracey Francis - Development Manager
Tracey joined Fischy Music in 2002 to handle administration. From an initial 10 hours per week, the job has expanded beyond recognition! In 2006 she returned to her roots, playing a key role in development and marketing.
Tracey has a degree in English and postgraduate certificates in both Publishing and Public Relations. She has wide experience in the field of corporate communications, including work with the Forestry Commission, Napier University, British Gas Scotland and the Clydesdale Bank, and has worked freelance on a range of medical and scientific journals.

She is at her happiest when travelling abroad, enjoys running, camping and climbing hills, and hopes to be fluent in at least three languages before she dies.

What is the most embarrassing song in your CD or iPod collection?
Phew, that’s lucky. I only have 'Remember You're A Womble' on vinyl so I don't have to admit to that...

Where do you like singing most?
In the car.

What is your idea of musical heaven?
Live Aid, 1985.

What is your idea of musical hell?
Unremitting hardcore dance music with no time off for good behaviour.

Which instrument do you wish you could play?
The Welsh harp. Or the Sousaphone – it’s such a brilliant name.

Which instrument are you most glad that you don’t play?
The pan pipes.

Favourite song from primary school?
‘The Ruler of the Queen’s Navee’ from HMS Pinafore. We performed it with actions. I still do.

Last song you cried to?
Can’t remember ever crying to a song… Maybe closest would be Janis Joplin, ‘Me and Bobby McGee’: I love the line ‘I’d trade all my tomorrows for a single yesterday…’ ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ can do it on occasion, too.

Last song you danced to?
The Buzzcocks, ‘Ever Fallen in Love With Someone You Shouldn't Have Fallen In Love With’.

Person you would most like to perform with?
Would have loved to perform with Joan Baez in 1989 in the former Czechoslovakia when she brought then dissident Vaclav Havel onstage and sang ‘Donna Donna’. The microphones were shut off immediately but in front of 4000 people and a TV audience government officials didn’t feel able to step in and arrest her. If I had the talent, I’d perform with Bono or Freddie Mercury: and I’d love to sing ‘Call Me’ with Debbie Harry.
